| what a great two months, enjoying God in asia. well we got back last thursday and we're helping the usc ministry get started up again after the summer break. then on sunday we'll be starting our stp in pine valley for three weeks. if you could, please pray that it will be a great time for young people in our ministry to get some spiritual training in the basics. also for much grace for the leaders who will be trying to serve the trainees as best they can. thanks | | |
| just a few more days before graduation and vset training in pine valley. lotta preparation going on for that. please pray that any issues with schools, transportation, and parents God will work out and we'll be able to worship Him for His sovereignty when we find out his answer. i really need to remain prayerful during this because it's easy to just get really busy and do these logistical tasks in my own strength and in a godless way. thanks | | |
| case closed. our jury deliberations lasted for about 40 minutes and when we called the baliff in, she was shocked that it went so quickly. i guess the evidence just made the facts so obvious. so starting tomorrow i'll be back to normal life. i got to talk to some of the jurors and get to know them a little, but it was difficult to relate. of the 14 jurors (12 + 2 alternates), there were 7 grandmas, 4 moms, 1 dad, and 1 other single woman. they seemed to always talk about raising children, or housekeeping, or their children/grandchildren. it was cool to get to know 13 people from completely diverse backgrounds and stages of life, but juror ministry was hard. one elderly lady was completely opposed to any form of organized religion and she wouldn't even let me explain before jumping to conclusions. this taught me how long term workplace ministry needs to be because i feel like i needed to have a better relationship with these people before i could get into their lives and minister the gospel. it also showed me more and more ways to look at the world and how differently people view themselves and the world than most of the people i usually talk to on campus. it was a very interesting experience though. i recommend jury duty to anyone who can afford the time away from work. welcome back party for tony and eric friday night at 6pm at WHEC. please let us know if you are coming. | | |
| well last week i went into the jury box and never got excused. today was the first day of the case and it was pretty interesting. i kinda miss being on campus though, especially for the last week of school. hopefully the case will not last longer than this week. lotta prep still for vset. ptl that we have two new sisters today. faith and becky, next year's women's staff at usc, each shared with girls and they both accepted. haha we've been EVing all year and becky catches one on her first day. praise God for the work He's done. lorin and ed's last rally at ucla will be this thursday before they go on long-term work in China. how sad | | |
| hmm what is God doing? my friend from beijing could not make it today for investigative bible study. i called in tonight and found out i have jury duty for wednesday, right before banquet. God is good | | |
